Where do you provide your services?

Allingham’s services are offered all across North West NSW and beyond. This includes Armidale, Tamworth, Moree, Inverell, Gunnedah, Narrabri, Walcha, Guyra, Uralla, Walcha, Muswellbrook, Glen Innes, and all the towns in between.

We are also available in suburbs closer to Sydney, such as Scone, Singleton, Newcastle, and Maitland. And we are one of few removalist companies that travel to and from Sydney and Brisbane weekly, for your convenience. We can also assist you in North Queensland, Canberra, Melbourne and along the Newell Highway.

If you need to transport furniture and personal belongings locally or interstate, get in touch with our team. We’ll always do our best to assist you.

 

I’m moving overseas. Can you help?

Absolutely! With our trusted partners, we have helped customers move to Tasmania, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and more. We can transport your furniture and belongings anywhere in the world. Ask us for more information about transit times, customs regulations, export formalities, and getting your goods ready for travel.

 

I’m moving with my pets. Is that okay?

Of course! We understand the importance of your pet’s well-being, and will do all we can to accommodate them. Ask us about arrangements for professional animal carriers to ensure we can keep your pets safe and secure during the trip to your new home.

 

I’ve just purchased something but have no way to get it home! Can you collect it?

Yes, Allingham’s often receive calls for product pick-ups from companies like eBay, Gumtree, Nick Scali Furniture, Freedom Furniture, Westfield Kotara, and heaps more. Just give us a call — we should be able to help you out.

 

Do you offer cleaning services?

Yes, we do. Whether you need our cleaning services for the house you’ve just left, or if you’d like us to clean your new home prior to moving in, our experienced team will be happy to help.

 

Can you help me with packing and/or unpacking?

Yes, our professional team are here to help you with every step of your move. Ask us for more information about how we can pack, prepare, and protect the entire contents of your home and garage, including your more fragile items. We can also offer our assistance in the new location, whether you’d like us simply to put boxes in the correct rooms, or set everything up the way you like it. Our focus is your convenience!

 

Do you have any packing materials available?

We certainly do! Ask us about our massive range of packing materials, including heavy-duty book boxes, cartons, butcher’s paper, bubble wrap, adhesive tape, plastic mattress protectors, Porta Robes, and more. These can be supplied and delivered to any of our service areas.

I’d prefer to do my own packing. How can I best prepare my belongings?

Allingham’s has plenty of packing materials if you need them. Once you’ve gathered supplies, like sturdy packing boxes, bubble wrap, tape and marking pens, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Pack heavy items (like books) into smaller boxes, to avoid injury when lifting.
  • Place heavier items at the bottom of the box.
  • Wrap precious items carefully and individually. It is often a good idea to place a layer of cushioning, such as bubble wrap or a towel, in the bottom of the box.
  • Similarly, use towels, clothings or similar to fill empty spaces in your boxes. This will prevent the contents from shifting.
  • Label the boxes carefully, so you can instantly tell what is in each box, and which room they should go into.
  • Make sure to keep important documents aside, and don’t immediately pack items you may need soon. Some people like to pack an overnight bag with some clothes and toiletries, so they don’t need to rummage through boxes on their first night in their new home.

Will Allingham’s disassemble and reassemble my furniture?

Yes, when necessary, our team will dismantle furniture for the move, and reassemble it upon relocation.

 

How should I prepare my fridge for moving?

We recommend that you empty your refrigerator and freezer, allow them to dry out, and wipe them clean before transportation. Make sure any magnets, photos, or other pieces on the fridge are removed, as they are likely to fall off during transit.

And if your fridge is going into storage for a while, we find that wiping out the interior with a little bit of vanilla essence can do wonders against mildew!

 

Do you offer storage?

Yes, Allingham’s has a large storage facility at our head office in Armidale NSW. Your goods are stored in a secure and well-maintained warehouse, and protected by crates or dust covers.

How long can I store my belongings?

We are happy to accommodate your furniture and items for as long as you need, whether you require temporary storage for a few hours, or long-term storage for several years.
