I’m moving overseas. Can you help?

Yes. We can assist with pre‑move packing, local transport, and delivery to your chosen freight or shipping provider. We also offer short‑term and long‑term storage if you need to hold items before departure.

I’ve purchased something but have no way to get it home. Can you collect it?

Absolutely. Whether it’s a single item or multiple pieces, we can pick up from stores, private sellers, warehouses, or depots and deliver it safely to your home or storage unit.

I prefer to pack myself. How can I best prepare my belongings?

We recommend:

  • Using strong, uniform‑sized boxes
  • Wrapping fragile items individually

Will Allingham’s disassemble and reassemble my furniture?

Yes. We can disassemble beds, tables, modular lounges, and other items as required, then reassemble them at your destination.

How should I prepare my fridge for moving?

    • Empty and clean the fridge
    • Defrost at least 24 hours before moving
    • Wipe dry to prevent mould
    • Secure shelves and drawers

    Once delivered, allow the fridge to sit upright for 2–4 hours before turning it back on.

Do you offer storage?

Yes — we offer self‑storage and containerised storage. You can choose:

What size storage units do you offer?

We offer 20ft self‑storage containers, suitable for household goods, furniture, business stock, and personal items. Each unit is secure, weather‑protected, and easily accessible.

Can I access my storage unit anytime?

Yes. Our self‑storage units allow you to come and go as needed during access hours. If you choose containerised storage, we can bring your container down for access when required.

Do you offer short‑term storage?

Yes. Whether you need storage for a few days, weeks, or months, we can accommodate your timeline.

Is my storage unit secure?

Absolutely. Our facility includes:

  • Locked and monitored yard
  • Individual unit locks
  • Weather‑protected containers

Can you move my items into storage for me?

Yes. We can collect your items, load them safely, and place them directly into your storage unit — saving you time and effort.

How much notice do I need to book?

We recommend booking 1–2 weeks in advance, especially during busy periods. However, we will always try to accommodate last‑minute moves.

Do you move pianos or heavy items?

Yes. We move upright pianos, safes, pool tables, and other heavy or awkward items. Let us know in advance so we can bring the right equipment.

Are you insured?

Do you offer backloading?

Yes — depending on availability and route. Backloading can be a cost‑effective option for long‑distance moves.

What payment methods do you accept?
